Hey, I know there is a certain price to pay for being the first kid on the block with the hot gadget du jour, but the $200 price drop on the iPhone made me really think if all the attention was worth it. So Steve offering to give me $100 back in Apple Store credit sure makes me happy. That's a nice gesture and one I accept gladly.

No Heroes To Look Up To
The kerfuffle between Apple and NBC will provide no end of material for armchair pundits, bloggers, and drm-istas (free or supporting flavors). In the end what it means to me is that I probably will not be watching Heroes online at least not in some simple seamless way. Sure I'll be able to watch old episodes on nbc.com or see what Clown & Co. come up with but it won't be as simple as what I had with iTunes. When will media companies understand that this isn't an all or nothing game for distribution? The iTunes isn't the Internet and you can distribute your content from multiple venues on the Internet at little or no incremental cost. Instead of negotiating for more money, negotiate for non-exclusivity (which you already have), grow the pie, and stop fighting over the slice.
