Are we not men?

My music tastes were formed pretty early on while I was growing up from about 1977-1983. My two uncle's listening habits had a big impact on me so I had a predilection towards music from a decade and a half earlier: Frank Zappa, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Dead, you get the picture. Much of what was on the radio, to me, was crap. From time to time I start listening to a band that I may have ignored or completely disparaged during my youth. On such ensemble is Devo. My rekindled interest in this group started one night when I heard "Uncontrollable Urge" as the soundtrack to a car commercial. At the time I didn't remember that it was Devo but I new I was liking that intro riff. So, I fired up iTunes, did a few searches and a few clicks later I was buying tracks. (actually I bought a whole albums worth of tracks. Is the RIAA listening here?) I must say my opinion of Devo has really changed 180 degrees. I still think "Satisfaction" kind of sucks, but "Gut Feeling/Slap Your Mammy" is feverishly brilliant. It makes me want to go out and pick up more music from that era to see what else I may have missed.
