Can your laptop do this?

I think it's pretty cool when my laptop can do this:
squidward:~/src/icontrol/dist> uptime
 5:16AM up 11 days, 6:14, 1 user, load averages: 0.70, 0.52, 0.45
I wonder how long I could hibernate this puppy and still recover? Anyway my G4 rocks. After being a linux road warrior for 3 years working with OS X has been a complete joy.

Finally Something To Do With All Those Business Cards

Ned Batchelder shows us what do do with all those business cards we collect. Actually I have a few boxes from old companies that I could probably use to build a depth 3 Menger's Sponge. (via boingboing)

Reclaim the Public Domain!

If you believe that an unlimited copyright term is a bad thing then why don't you sign this petition to congress? The petition asks congress to consider passing the Public Domain Enhancement Act:
This statute would require American copyright owners to pay a very low fee (for example, $1) fifty years after a copyrighted work was published. If the owner pays the fee, the copyright will continue for whatever duration Congress sets. But if the copyright is not worth even $1 to the owner, then we believe the work should pass into the public domain.
Pretty sensible if you ask me.
