The Electronic Intifada seems to be making the rounds. I think it's important to try to see as much "unofficial" news about what's happening in the region. What I find disturbing is the lack of coverage on events such as the one reported at the Kalandia checkpoint. A Google search I ran this morning turned up no western sources. Of course this Palestinian source even had links to pictures. As usual there is much more depth to the events happening in Israel and the West Bank, but we'll never see it on television or in our news papers. The net may help to give balance to this terrible time but only if we have the time to dig through and try to confirm each story. It's worth the trouble if you care. GWI may be getting a clue. But maybe as the story suggests it may have more to do with the price of oil and mid-term elections than the mounting death tool on both sides.
